Apparently this occurred at a private airport. So we can assume he was mowing the grass strip? Story doesn't say, exactly. The story does says the "experienced pilot was unable to see the man on a lawn mower until it was too late." What?

What a tragedy. I've never really thought about it, but with grass airstrips, at some point that grass does need to be cut. I would have thought that anyone cutting the grass would be wearing high visibility clothing and maybe even monitoring the unicom radio frequency.
