Colors of Solitude - FSX Video - Amazing DX10

She's a beast man. It was nice to get a project like this out, as it's been years since I made a non-commercial video for FSX. That being said, Scott over at A2A has been keeping me quite busy. I actually nabbed some of the shots (some of the Cessna and Cherokee shots) from work I'm doing for them.

Your system is almost identical to mine and yes with Dx10 as well it makes FsX enjoyable at last!!
 
What an exceptional video, Cody! I enjoyed every second of it (though it further 'complicates'/adds to my want-to-get list of addon products). I think I'm most impressed by your use of the camera effects/angles/fields of view, etc., which really adds to the sense of added reality. When done well, as you do, it further removes your mind from the sense of being confined to a game/computer screen. As Ted mentions, it creates a real experience that way.

I think many of us who enjoy this hobby, and are involved in aspects like modeling, repainting, scenery design, video production, etc., are drawn into it by the cathartic release/solitude it offers, as you describe.


BTW, in the opening scenes, even though that is a scenery which is located in the Sahara, it looks almost exactly like a place I went to in California about two months ago - out in the desert, 102-degrees in the shade, in the middle of nowhere, with just about the only thing close by being a restaurant attached to a long since closed gas station, which looked awfully similar to that in the scenery shown - all to check out a private WWII aircraft boneyard. : )

Too bad for MS they gave up on the Franchise - maybe LM would buy it to promote P3D

its a beautiful piece of work - tremendous video - if there were an Oscar for best short Flight Sim vid this one would win it easily... very inspiring
 
Great camera angles on this one. I find FSX with Steve's DX10 fixer turns FSX into an entirely new product.

I've been in the middle of a move, including renovations, so I haven't been able to express my thanks for you guys watching it. I'm glad you enjoyed the video guys. When I get a bit more time, I will individually reply to some of the comments.
