Comcast/Xfinity vs FS9 Alert

If you are a comcast/Xfinity customer DO NOT install their latest security package called Constant Guard!!

It will reasign many of FS9's hot keys and cannot be overridden. I switched keyboards, applied backup fs9.cfg files and even let the system build a new one -- all to to no avail. The only way to reverse the effects is to completely remove the new product, which my I/T Guru spent almost an hour doing.

The good news is the system is now back to normal.:greenbo:

racartron - Sorry to hear of your troubles. Glad to hear they have been ameliorated. It 's rather bothersome when something/anything that purports to be beneficial turns out, in fact, anything but that. LA

Constant Guard

I had the same issue. It also affected the video player on my lap top.

I restored my system to the day before I installed the program and that returned everything back to normal.

I never install anything on my PC from my ISP.

Its just not necessary for me to do computing and gain access to a network. The other results that could happen you just documented well.

Stay away from any software like that. Less is more

Same here, no ISP provided anti-malware or maintenance programs for me. I install what I want and have had very few problems.

Is this the same Comcast of Henry's recent experience? Whoever they are, they don't seem very professional - and I see elsewhere they have made some you-beaut super-duper deal with Skype "to improve users' call experiences" by letting Skype work through the home TV set.
Glad I live in Oz and shouldn't have this inflicted on me...
Cheers

Comcast is now the largest cable tv, phone, and internet provider in the U.S. They can do pretty much what they want. For people like me, the choice is Comcast or dial-up, Verizon has not brought FIOS to my area and probably won't for quite a while.
