Come back, Panther! We have cookies and Tuskegees! (Warbirdsim P-51C inside)

North American P-51C-10-NT, #42-103956 "Miss-Pelt" of 1Lt. Clarence "Lucky" Lester, 100th FS, Ramitelli, Italy, September 1944.
Lester, from Chicago, Illinois, acquired his nickname from his abilities at poker, but the name was fitting for his combat career as well; in 95 missions, his aeroplane was never so much as scratched by enemy fire. On 18 July, Lester used this fighter to destroy three Bf 109s in the Udine-Treviso area on a day when the group downed 11 enemy aircraft in total. The mustang had been purchased in part with $75, 000 raised by the students' teachers of the Sisters of Notre Dame's Alphonsius School in Chicago. After the war, Lester remained in the Air Force, earned a degree from Stanford University in international relations and served in the Pentagon until the Inner City Fund, a venture capital initiative aimed at financing urban businesses.

Excellent Stephan! And thank you for the history pertaining to the pilot and aircraft. Per fighter group, I believe the 332nd offers some of the most repaint possibilities for the P-51B/C, as the group was heavily structured on the particular type for quite some time.

Speaking of the 332nd, there have been some very rare photos posted on WIX, just yesterday, that can be seen at the following link:

Thanks a lot, Bomber!
You're right. There are many nice schemes and I plan to paint 2 or 3 new tuskegees in the next days.
Thanks for the link, the photos are great...

Isn't that Captain Lee in that aircraft?
Captain Lee Archer was flying the "Ina the Macon Belle"...

Regards,

Stephan

AND no CG9 either!? To quote, "Something is rotten in the State of Denmark!" No offense intended Huub or Cees.

Thanks for posting that screenshot of the Redtail Mr.Epsillon.
Got any more?
This is what I did with it - A tribute image to the "Tuskegee" Pilot C. "Lucky" Lester.
Even tho he did not shoot down any Me-262, I thought it would be nice to add it to the
action image.

Thanks for sharing some Redtails :ernae::woot:
Stunning work, Max! :applause::applause::applause:
Thank you for sharing...
The photos at the bottom show more details than my original sources and give me the opportunity to create a more realistic version of this repaint in a few days.
I plan to create 2 or 3 more Tuskegees but I can try to create a special one for you if you want. Just send me pictures and I will see what I can do.
I have health problems and I can not use my right arm for a few days but it will get better after a little rest and with the help of petro-chemistry:costumes:

I'll be back on Photoshop soon!
Thanks again for this nice tribute...;)

Best regards,

Stephan

PS: has you seen this one?
