It's NZ3009/ZK-RMH in its 2001 Duxford livery as "Wairarapa Wildcat II".

First in the row of several repaints planned on this awesome aircraft.
Thank you IRIS for releasing this gem as freeware now!

Please take a thorough look at her:
If anything still needs to be altered - now would be the time to mention!

Any comments or suggestions welcome.

Cheers,
Markus.

Very nice Marcus! Thanks! I was almost forgotten what I nice model actually this is..

Huub

This is the very Reason i still have FS2004 installed , simply to enjoy the talent off artists .

Markus :salute:That is damn pretty :medals:

Thank you guys! :salute:

But please keep in mind that IRIS provided an extraordinary paint kit with it, so a huge part of the praise belongs to the creators of the master textures!
For this release, depicting a restored warbird, I just had to erase the gunport smoke stains and tune the 'overall dirt' some notches down.

A war-beaten version should be up next...

Going to upload this one now.

Cheers,
Markus.

Dang. Still not up yet. Feel like I'm watching paint dry. :salute:

Oh, well. Looking forward to it.

Thanks, Markus.

...Where can this IRIS freeware P-40 be found?....I've hit a lot of dead ends looking for it. Even a porn sight that had it listed!

Great screens Mike you beat me to it...thanks for the prop texture!

And thanks to Markus, again.

Thanks, Duckie!

Anyone out for a dirty cat?
What do you think about this one?

Just did some tweaking on the 'dirt&stain section' (duplicating and colourizing the "weathering" layer and fiddling with their opacities).
Furthermore, I created the perforated air intake panel (just in front of the exhaust rack) of the Mk.III model (still have to add it to the port side...).

Juicy, isn't it?

Thanks to the very smart and repaint-friendly modeling and mapping IRIS used, adding some more stains in the area underneath and behind the cowl flaps is simply fun!

I still am undecided concerning the green shade:
These pics show US Olive Drab (Fs.34087).

As this 14Sq. NZ3072 depicts the July 1943 Guadalcanal status (the port side cat outlined with chalk to take some photographs), the white ID bands applied "in the field" show up a little uneven. I assume there wasn't much time for thorough masking...
