Comparing a/c

Is there any site which compares WWI airplanes? Advantages/ disadvantages, speed, climb rate, roll, armament, etc..

I have no idea about the relative performance of these aircrafts, but it would be very useful in combat. maybe I'm trying to outdive a Corsair with a Zero if you know what I mean. So what about the Ni17, Albatross DV, Dr1, Se5a, and Camel? Any info would be appreciated! Thanks!
 
Exactly! Thank you very much! I'm still hesitating between my two favorites, the Ni17, and the Camel. As far as I got it, the Ni 17 was more easy to handle, but the Camel was faster. both had about the same manouverability, right? The disadvantage of the camel is the difficult handling i.e. easy to stall, tricky left/right turns...Am I missing something?

When they simulated the CAMEL right, the trick in turning would be RUDDER LEFT in both turns, left AND right. That beast must have had a strong engine torque, driving the plane towards right, in turns.
But I haven't tried it in OFF, I'm still working on my German Campaigns - it's hard to survive 17 hours, when all is set to "full realism".
But we don't give, right? Have fun!

After a reinstall I will try to master the Camel. I survived only 1,5 hours with my Ni17. I was heading home with my shot up kite, when I run out of fuel. I tried a forced landing, but I didn`t pay attention for a second, and when I looked back, all I saw was a `boom`...I recieved a military funeral....great.
 
Have you found a good comparison of the planes? Cause, I had the same idea: a list of the performance data; like:
- maximum speed
- climb rate
- roll rate
- turning
- dive speed
- lethality of weapons fired
- overall stability

Perhaps, we can put a diagram together? So, when you find a good site with info, let me know.

Yes I had it reversed, perhaps that's why I don't enjoy such a temper tantrum prone aircraft. You can learn alot about the camel here:

Phase 2, denotes there was a Phase 1, and there shall be a Phase 3. This is afterall a patch. In WWII with a .50cal featureing a heavy projectile, it was not unheard of, to make a 700 yard shot, and score hits, if the opposition was well below you. Granted the bullet drop at extreme ranges boggled the mind, but the weight of the projectile, meant it still retained some destructive energy.

The Nieuport had a WEAK lower wing, this became painfully apparent as the airframe aged, or battle damage was taken. It's own ability to take extemely tight turns, sometimes meant shedding a wing.

WARPZAP was Not always in existence, many a N17 pilot grasped his rabbits foot, doing a shallow dive at 123mph

In the upper right corner of Workshop, is AIRCRAFT STRESS. Turn that Off, you inherit a strong lower wing. "I'll never tell", but that's cheating :costumes:

There is a write up on the majority of a/c.

Put simply, the German DVII and up, were the best a/c of WWI. The DR1, the best vertical climb, and used from it's into, to the end, albeit as a defensive a/c then due to lack of speed. The Neiuport 24 for the French, and the Sop Pup,Tripe, and *Camel,were all good, with perhaps the SE5a and variations, the best all round a/c for the British.

The Camel unfortunately killed or injured almost 1/3 as many British Pilots, as German Pilots that were shot down by it. Too much torque!
