Just wondering if anyone has or has flown the sim X-Planes?

If so, what do you think of it, and is it worth it? Are there many planes for it?

Thanks,
WF2

Please PM your answers, just do not want to fill-up the OFF forum with this OT topic, thanks.

Yes.. I have flown X-plane..
I have version 9 and the last release of version 8 (8.64)...
Depends what you want to fly.. I have a lot of paid for GA planes.. ranging from microlights through huskys.. beaver.. etc.. The default scenery is pretty good (for example I spent a lot of time practicing XC on it VFR around bits of UK I know).. .. and theres some Very very G cheap 'buy it'.. scenery for the northwest passage etc.. and you buy the 'real charts' and fly it.. its beautiful .. There is much pretension but I found the community quite good and you can moan at Austin by email (the owner/ author ) but it to what effect??? Quite frankly I think the behaviour of all the GA planes on the runway and landing is pretty awful particulalry if there's any cross wind.. BUT.. having said that.. you can fiddle with the planes.. For example I wanted an amphibian version of the huskyand with a bit of guidance and a couple of hours workI got one.. BTW the sea plane behaviour is worse than the GA..
However...
If you want 'thejet' then the cockpits are beautiful and etc..and ofcourse there are the airlines.. etc..
Anyway if you like a non-combat sim its worth having.. BUT then I like MS FSX and theres some 'class' addons planes and scenery for that. Overall.. I think both are worth having.. but I dont believe the hype about the flight model's 'reality'... ..:wiggle:

Oops didnt see your request re PM but I'm sure it wont hurt..
