Completing missions

Ok so I've actually started getting some kills - last mission I took out 3 Camels and an Ace (I think - he had a name)? Anyway during the mission I took some damage and was forced to land at our airbase (Fuel leak) now here are the questions

  • IN the scenario above because I ended the mission I didnt get kills - how the heck do I actually get the kills to register?
  • Also When flying a mission is there a way to see your flight leader or tell the different flights apart?
  • Should I follow the leader or just stick to the Waypoints?
  • On the mission with "stay over blah blah for 11mins" ...do I just time these or doead something happen when the 11 mins are completed?
Hmmm Any pointers guys

SURPERB GAME BTW ...ABSOLUTELY AWESOME SIM !!! VERY ATOMSPHERIC :friday:

After you land wait for the OFF Manager to come back and you should get the claim form. If you don't something went wrong somewhere.

Not really but if you look as you form up he's the bloke at the front :)
Where you go there's a gap.
Up to you. More realistic to actually follow the leader.
You are meant to be there that long between two patrol waypoints usually. Yes they should be slightly longer maybe but many would get bored but you can stay as long as you feel. Best to try to get the mission done, but end of day get home is no.1

There's some tips in the stickys by Gimpy worth browse though many still apply.

Very glad you like it :)

It's a balancing act between maintaining immersion ( which OFF has by the Bucket) and cheating ala CFS3.

I try to navigate, but I ain't to good at it, so my TAC screen is back-up on my Joystick ( for checking how far I'm off course)

Also I threw all the gauges overboard, the printed part of the HUD is on another button

I must confess, I leave ( Z ) up. That jumble of numbers contain all the info of the gauges, if you know where to look.
Plus a very useful Timer
When they say patrol an area for 11 minutes, they mean 11 minutes. 5 minutes seems like an eternity. Without a Timer, it can't be done !! :kilroy:

POV when I have quit over the home airfield at the missions end it has logged as a successful mission.
Do yoo have to actually land to get the credit? Or the fact that I am getting a succeful misison (after visiting all waypoints and staying the allotted times etc) actually a good sign that it should also register the kill?

It should end OK Mk2 but I always try to land. Also although it should be fine, try to exit via esc, and go to officers mess

I've yet to land at home, I always manage to do my impression of a Lawn Dart, I shouldn't say always, as I got blown to smithereens by a flak shell once

In Phase 2, I would never pass on the chance to land. As soon as you click on officers mess. The animation of your pilot might drag his shot up carcass clear of the aircraft, which explodes.
He might get out and kiss the ground
I've had him take a knee, and make the sign of the cross

Don't know exactly what goodies await. And at this rate I may never find out :kilroy:

thxs guys - I' lll give it ago , I guess the issues was -I was not finishing all waypoints in favour of killing! Lesson learnt Waypoint then killing!

Pity we didint have those little flags on the flight leaders planes :woot:

Cheers
