Hi all and Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it.....

Just where does one find the info that tells one whether or not a computer has a 32 or 64 bit OS?

Depends.. on MS windows(all Versions).. one is to right click on MY COMPUTER select properties, it will tell you the OS version. Esentialy if it does NOT say x64.. its 32 bit. Or.. goto C: drive and see if you have a programe filles.. and program file(x86).. if it has both.. its 64bit...

hope this helps...

Yeh ,it helps a lot especially the part about if it "DOESN'T"say 64.....That was the first thing I did was rt clk on "my computer" but I would have never thought about the omission factor.....

Thanks a bunch, it

A more detailed program is called Everest.....but it is payware, but well worth the small price. There is a freeware version but it doesn't give you as much detail.

Just got it and installed. Pretty cool. Lot's more than I knew before. And I like that it's showing you a "live" reading.

The best info gathering tool I have found.. for free.. is

SIW Standalone Version

No instal no messy dll garbage, as I avoid anything i need to install. Everyone should know that everything you install NEVER completely uninstalls, it leaves crap all over.. system32, windows dir registry.. ect and moves along the timeline for a rebuild. So ANYTHING i can get my hands on thats a stand alone.... I grab it. IMHO a info gathering utility should never be a installable... its not something you will use more than once or twice.. so.. track down a stand alone software.

Hope this helps as well middle.
