Hi all,

I cant seem to find the download for condensation trails for the bombers, does anyone know where I can find? Was there ever one made that only worked when the aircraft reached a certain height? Thanking you in advance!

c i uploaded 2 full effect packs.one for the avh lancasters and the tempest. there was no response good or bad so i stoped putting them up. if you go to down loads, effect paks. the lancasters have the condensation download by henk included. there is presently no way to beat the hard code to trigger the trails in cfs3 at altitude.many have tried.

Yup C, that's the way it is. Slip, dont tease us with those awesome P-61 shots! He-he, the problem with the contrails also included the multiplayer mismatches. The xdp has to be modified so it messes up your ablity to play online. You can try it. I wish MS would give us the source code. I am pretty sure it will work once we get the code for mixture alititude. That will be all we need.

Has anyone tried guessing at another xml variable like speed=## alititude=## and seeing if it works? Maybe a spawn generate a ghost squadron right behind the player? Altitude and vicinity? It's probably all been done before.

Squiffy, this is contrails in a MP game. Adding an effect at the bottom of the planes xpd you will not get a mp mismatch. Changing the plane flight dynamics or weapons/guns will.

Wow that's cool flyer. Pat, that's what I was thinking of but hopefully right in the shadow of the aircraft, say one length behind it. Not sure if this will work because most spawns are facility or vision circle dependant right?

Thanks Flyer, I've used them a lot and have fiddled with their proximity. The issue is gettign them to respond or even appear some other way associated with altitude. Spawns have altitude and engines respond to altitude in the mixture control. It's hard coded so we are just chewing the fat here.

thanks for posting a pic flyer.thats what my skies look like dureing a dog fight. i'm on dial up so i couldn't test online.glad to know it works.is that the tempest with the full pak? what was the frame rate online? i set up henk's contrails for single planes to be used on all the other "fast" craft.if you put them on slower planes you'll have to lower the "min velocity" to show at slower speeds.squiffy with the numerical placement you can put them anywhere, and at almost any distance away from the plane.if thats what your asking.i was trieing to create an aircraft funtion in the air file. no matter how i phrased it,it wouldn't work.you know the hard code story! :faint:

SLIP STREAM, I got the contrails from the bombers contrails and made them to fit the planes. When you use them in MP there is no fps loss that I can tell. Now when you put them on 4 engine planes like the B-17 and fly a mission that is heave with bombers yes it drops your fps conceterbly. The contrails turn on at air speed of 155mph and up and shut off at the same speed. anything under 155mph thy do not turn on.

I have been asking this ? for years and no answer re altitude and using mixture control. Either one can't or no one with the understanding of how the mix control setting works has looked at it.
