Configuring failures in FSX

Weeks ago, I ordered the Saitek Pro Flight Switch Panel from the FlightSim Pilot Shop: http://www.fspilotshop.com/product_...=2323?osCsid=0001fc49066b9f576f4be977b34369a5

It is still on Pre-Order. Although I was fortunate enough to get in on the first batch released, it isn't expected to ship before the end of October.

BUT, when it does arrive, I plan to test something on it.

The panel features lights for the landing gear. If one of the gear malfunctions, the respective light will not light up.

So my question is, can I program gear failure in FSX?

Press Alt, then on the toolbar click realism then failures. From there you can set something to fail at random, during a specified time, or do an instant failure. I hope that's clear...I'm trying to type with a cut index finger.
