Control binds bind!

I have probably missed a thread on this but....I have set my various camera/control bindings on my Warthog HOTASs but they seem not to hold. Every time I come back to the sim the previous work I have done has disappeared and I have to start again. Guessing I am screwing something up somewhere in that I want my bindings to apply to all aircraft....

When assigning control bindings, by default they will only apply to the one particular variant of aircraft (or helicopter, or glider, etc.) that you currently have selected from the menu. However, under the "presets config" options, you can click on the gear symbols and select "Apply to all aircraft", or "Set as default". Alternatively, when selecting a new aircraft to fly, you can go to the controller options and select to use a profile you've created for another aircraft (or create a new one and assign it individually to said aircraft).

As John said. I did the same with my X-56 HOTAS, putting my screenshot and take picture actions on my throttle quadrant, and set it to apply to all aircraft. Works well, except after about 10-15 minutes of flying, the "camera" action (shift+V) will randomly come on. Don't know if it is the controller or my rig, or the sim. My parking brake does the same, almost every time I lower the landing gear.

Thanks a lot John - will get cracking on this properly tomorrow.

I have frequently had bindings disappear, or get the new user trophy on loading where you have to do everything over again. Also be aware there are Easter Eggs in there as default settings. One which I had assigned my gear down to also was a default engine auto stop.

Just watched a decent video from Jonathan Beckett on the basics of how to set up your hardware. Probably should have done that before I dived in.... I 'think' it helped but I still wonder how anyone new to flight simulation gaming could possible cope with this!
