converting textures from FSX to FS2004 aircraft

Hallo to the specialists of textures,

I just downloaded the MCAC A-26 textures.
I converted the DDS textures to bmp and than resized and flipped and so on.
All is fine, no see troughs, really all fine.
Now my question:
It seems that the textures "*_spec.bmp" and "*_bump.bmp" are not needed.
As I' m not sure I ask the experts are these textures relevant or of need in FS2004 ?

Happy engineering

Thank you steve for your answer.
The first time I tried to converse textures from FSX and even some times from fs9 I got some problems.
When I tried to copy them over existing textures I had some "see trough" effet seeing apeearing the older/original texture through the new one. This effect disapeared when I opened the alpha channel of the given bmp and made it white. So I believec that the "*.spec.bmp" textures could serve for the alpha channel.
