Just got a new rig with Win7 64 bit and do not know how to copy and paste files.It's not the same as the 32bit version. The help i get from the help section only shows is moving or deleting files,not copy and pasting .I know this must sound stupid but 64bit seems way different than 32bit.Can't do anything till i find a answer.:banghead: Thanks for any help.

It should be identical. Just check that you are running as Administrator &/or UAC settings are down.

OT - OS Problems

UAC = User Account Control
It's designed to prevent changes to your computer's files without your knowing that they are being changed. Most power users found it to be more of an annoyance than a protection, and typically turned it off.

If you're talking about the keyboard shortcuts ctrl+c and ctrl+v, I have recently learned that it can get turned off on some systems. When I checked by right clicking and then using the copy / paste selections the clipboard function was still working so I figured out that it was just the keyboard mapping that had gotten messed up. Is the clipboard working at all? If not, then the OS install will need to be repaired. Do a Google search for the issue, as there may be several possible solutions to your problem.

maybe virus. malware? Do a scan in safe mode. The first thing a virus goes for usually is security/admin settings

Win 7 64-bit Ultimate here, had it since the pre-release versions and it works like any other version, including copy and paste. UAC is also the Universal Aggravation Creator: I turned it off very early and have never found the need to turn the blighter back on. Click on the flag icon in system tray at bottom right and select Action Center. UAC settings are at top left.

Thanks guys. The problem ended up being the mouse for my new rig:dizzy:. At least it was nothing major. Thanks again for the advice.
