Corben Baby Ace WIP

Looks very promising Craig! Will this just be FS9 or will there be an FSX version as well?

Cheers,
Huub

That looks good with that horizontally opposed engine on it Full.

Saw one I wanted to buy back in the early 70's based at a small grass airstrip just east of Charlotte, N.C., but couldn't come up with the $3500 they were asking. Whoever covered the wings on that bird had overtightened the fabric where it had scalloped trailing edges on the wings.

Oh, forgot to ask, will there be one with small main wheels without the the wheel pants?

Thanks guys !

The iPad is just experimental at the moment I'm not sure if it will be in the final package, Hey OBIO I knew you'd be happy about the floater :)

$3500 was a lot of money back in the 70's (still is now) but its cheap flying in anyone's books, yeah lots of different versions with/without spats and different tail configurations.

One of my favorites!!! I was thinking the same thing about the iPad panel. There are already a bunch of aviation apps for it. I love that you're making four versions. Thanks for the preview.

Thank You Craig,

I've been looking forward to your model of the 'Ace since I first heard of it. It's one of my favorite home builts. I have the old Mechanics Illustrated magazines with the plans in it. It's just a pretty plane to look at.

I've collected all your releases and enjoy them completely. You've picked some interesting subjects! I've spent hours with the Flamingo, both flying it in FS4 and looking up info about the real bird and Johnny Angel.

Thanks
Norm

Thanks guys ! I'm looking forward to doing the Mechanix Illustrated paint :)

Just wanted your opinions on weather you want the choice of having models with a GPS unit or not ?

Just a update on the spat version, its all ready for painting....

Full that is a fantastic picture and absolutely marvelous work you have done.

It's plane SEXY!

As for having GPS some may want to take a very long cross country trip in it, or may start out in at an airport in an area they are not familiar with and may want a GPS in scouting out away from it. Not being a model maker I was under the impression that a popup GPS can easily be incorporated with models which I would think would be preferred as well as satisfactory. If you are talking about modeling one that you can look at positioned in the cockpit, aand I have seen these in some models, I rarely look at them especially if they are of the handheld type because they have such small screens that require zooming in on to look at them. I would think a popup would be plenty satisfactory if needed by anyone. This type plane is generally used best for local low and slow flying mainly and become submerged in it's cuteness. It is beautiful! Stick a pop up GPS in it MHO. Besides that every pilot should yearn to learn the skill and art of dead reckoning.

You are good model maker and artist! :ernae:

Really looking forward to this, Craig; looks great!

I've always thought that vintage parasol monoplanes were the ideal sight-seeing aircraft, with the Davis D-1-W or D-1-K being my personal favourite. I love biplanes, but I also love flying to see the landscapes below and a bipe's lower wing invariably gets in the way, hence the beauty of the parasol. Here are a couple of other great vintage parasols:

There's a radial engined version of the 22, but I've not yet found a high quality colour shot of one

Stinson Model O (that's "Oh" not "Zero")

And here's a neat little bipe that I remember reading about years ago but never found a good photo of until today:
