Corrections to Stock German Vehicles

I've submitted some corrections to XDPs of stock German vehicles for upload under CFS3 Other.

The changes include:

Elephant - Corrected XDP. MG had no ammo. Changed Priority of vehicle. Added small range of panning to MG. Removed traverse of main gun from xdp because there is no ability for the gun to traverse, when viewing the m3d in cfs3's

m3d viewer.

88mm - Corrected XDP. Had pathetic panning rate. Increased slightly. You should increase it a bit more. (current rate limit is 14 - should be 20 but I'm soft on allied aircraft)

Hetzer - Corrected xdp file. The xdp had gunstations swapped in comparison to the m3d file, which has the main 88mm gunstation first. So swapped the gunstations in xdp. Main gun no longer traverses. MG lacked ammo - added 1500

rounds.

Jagdpanther - MG had no ammo, so provided it. For some reason, the traverse funtion for the MG in the M3D equates to elevation (and there is none). However the elevation function provides for the MG to traverse, so presumably in the

xdp, the elevation parameter determines how far the MG can traverse.

Jagpanzeriv - renamed the M3D file so it matches the model name in the xdp file.

KingTiger - Swapped the order of the gunstations in the xdp - the turret MG follows the 88mm gun in the M3D list of gunstations. The fixed MG is last. Changed rate limit of turret MG. Added ammo to fixed MG. Changed Entered

Service date to 1/1/44. This may need fixing at least its better than 1-1-30.

Kublewagon - added personnel_car to the picktype so this vehicle appears in more stock spawns.

Ostwind - M3D shows an MG which is not listed in the xdp, so added the fixed MG to the gunstations in the xdp.

Panzeriv - Changed MG on the body of the tank - panning and traverse to match the M3D, also gave the MG some ammo. The turret MG was fine.

Panzerv - a bit of a stuff up in the M3D model. Neither of the MGs traverse - they only have elevation. However in the xdp the MG on the body of the tank has no ammo so fixed that. Also had a fiddle with the elevations for the

body MG, made it trainable=1 and gave it a rate limit and added tracer. Also changed entered service date to 1/1/43 which may need correcting but is better than 1/1/30.

Flaktrack - Corrected the modelname in the xdp file. Stock vehicle would not have rendered. Increased panning rate limit and tracer.

Sdkfz234 - changed the pick type to armor_artillery_mobile from armor_tank_light. Something wrong with the gunstation in the M3D - the gun will not pan or traverse in the cfs3 m3d viewer. Needs a modeller to fix.

Tiger - Added missing ammo to the body MG. Edited the body MG so its trainable (only capable of elevation not traversing).

Wirbelwind - added MG to the body of the vehicle - its in the M3D but not in the xdp file. MG gunstation can elevate but not traverse.

-- thats it folks hope it helps.

NB the Entered Service dates in the xdp files could do with improving.

Some of the issues found in the xdp files may have filtered through to other installs, or to other nations, for example when the NEK is applied. At a guess, I would think some IJN or Japanese Army vehicles in NEK may have imported some of the problems encountered, if the Japanese vehicles are only re-skinned German vehicles? I haven't looked to see if these changes could be applied to MAW or PTO.

ETO has revised the Entered Service entry in the xdps so in your stock install you could do worse than simply use the entered service dates from ETO German vehicles.

Where can I find the corrected Wirbelwind corrected xdp file ?

Modified zip Uploaded

Sorry Gosd, I forgot to get onto this. I've submitted a corrected zip including the Wirbelwind. Its got a changed entered service date. MG only has elevation as the gunstation is not modelled to traverse.

Thanks for correcting those vehicles David! :salute:

Can your files be used in ETO?

Cheers

yes vonO you would just need to update the guns. I would use some comparison software like Winmerge which would allow you to look at the xdp file for a vehicle from ETO, next to my version of the xdp. Winmerge highlights the differences - saves an enormous amount of time and you can decide what you want to change. Suggest you use ETO Entered Service dates, for example.

Hi David

Any chance you could make an ETO version of the German Vehicles? :salute:

Cheers

Hi von oben,

probably not a bad idea. It may turn out that the ETO versions are improved anyway, but I'll check.

At the mo' I am hunting down a problem with my favorite modified stock install which I'd managed to keep bug-free for ages and was turning out some fantastic campaigns. Now the damn thing is crashing and I can't as yet work out what the problem is. My best campaign has gone from April 1943 through to 29 December 1943, and I am still bogged down in the lowlands of Europe, have only just managed a foothold across the Rhein. I've added a new air spawn consisting of two Ace enemy pilots who bounce you from 8000m, appearing very fast out of nowhere and chew up your squadron or escorts very quickly unless you keep your wits about you.

The campaign spawns British on the Allied side. There are a lot of Malcolm hood P-51b's spawning at present. But it doesn't look like I can get to Berlin (the sole Victory Area) if I can't track down the sodding bug....

The vehicles will be next in the queue.

Hi David

I hope you can find the problem!

Good Luck!
