I dowmloaded the Alpha Blue Ciel Vought F4U-7 Corsair V.7 and I got a bit of a problom , see pic. How do I fix this?

Well, you certainly are a missing a gauge or six!
Get them installed, and you'll get some icons which give you straight-ahead, as well as left, and right taxiing views.
(Your pic is showing all three)

That is how it shows , three vews at the same time. There are no gauges in the vc also. Any ideas how to fix this?

The gauge file for the ACB Corsair is not installed. It is called F4U7_Instr.gau. Do a search on your system to locate that file and move it to the GAUGES folder in FS9. If you can not find the file, send me a PM with your E-Mail address (DO NOT PUT YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS HERE IN THIS THREAD) and I will send you a copy of it.

I just installed the ACB Corsair and everything is working just fine.

Thank you PM sent. Will putting that file in fix the problom of seeing three panels at the same time?

Try Shift+1, Shift+2, Shift+3.
That's how they come up on mine.
The only way all three are up for me is if I bring them up and leave them up.
Personally, I fly from the VC @ 50%.
I fly all my planes that way now. Especially after increasing the pan rate in the FS9 CFG file.

Looks like a corrupt panel file, the LF and RF views are on ( 1) instead of the default off (0). Ya might try hitting the 7, 8, or 9 key on the keypad (with numlock ON) in the 2D panel to see if the view fixes itself. I'll check my ciel panel to see whats going on when I get home.

Hello all

I have the same Corsair but a different problem...I can't take off! I tried everything, no flaps, flaps, prop high pitch, prop low pitch, very gently throttled her up, full right rudder...no chance, she always breaks to the left and than flips over! What's the trick to get her airborne? Even the Bf-109s I have are easier to start...

thanks
Uwe

It is a pain to take off but it flys good , all I can tell you is keep trying.

You've definitely got a goofed up panel.cfg in there. The right and left views are set to visible=1 instead of visible=0.

There's also a patch with updated FD's that was put out by the original authors that "corrects the problems of takeoff" and includes a new model. I know I have the original somewhere, but I can't find it right now. I'm downloading the original and the patch at the moment and I'll see what happens once I get them installed.

Link to patch: http://www.flightsim.com/file.php?cm=SEARCH1&fsec=0&fname=COF4UFIX.ZIP

OK - original and patch are installed, and I found a few things that I fixed right off. My guess about the panel.cfg was dead on. Change the visble= lines in Window02 and 03 to zero. Next, I make a couple of changes to the aircraft.cfg. I changed the diff. braking from 0.5 to 1.0, then I changed the steering angle from only 20° to 50°. I suppose that if you really wanted to be a purist, you could change it to 180° and use the tailwheel lock on takeoff.

I'm off to fly a circuit or two - be right back...

Done! First I need to correct one mistake - the 0.5 I changed in the braking was the toe brake scale. I changed that back to it's original 0.5 and added the diff brake line (copied from the DC-3 because I've never memorized the syntax).

It's still a bear to get off the ground, but with VERY gentle application of the throttle until the tail is flying, it can be done. (And I normally fly with autorudder, so I'm not used to doing that - if I can do it, anyone can!)

One other change I made was to the GPS section of the panel. when you click the icon, the entire left side of the screen is GPS, so this is what I'm using:

[Window08]
size_mm=456,378
window_size=0.45
position=2
BACKGROUND_COLOR=0,0,0
VISIBLE=0
ident=48
gauge00=fs9gps!gps_500,0,0

You have to keep the ident line original as the stock ident code doesn't work with this icon.

I also noticed after my last post that the 180° steering angle is included as an option in the contact points, so if you want it, jsut swap out a couple of slashes.

The gauge file fixed my panel problem. Then I put in the update that Tom posted a link for and the Corsair was gone , reloaded the original and all is good. I think I need to play with this one some more. Thanks every one for the help.

The update may have changed the UI entries. I didn't look at the original before installing the patch, but mine is under Vought.

I will keep playing with it , sooner or later I will figure it out .
