Could use some prayers

Hi everyone,
Just thought I would ask for some prayers for my brother who's having lung surgery as I type. His name is Mark.
They believe he has lung cancer. Their doing a biopcy and if it is cancer, they'll remove part of his lung.
He's not in the best physical shape to say the least. He has a slew of problems. Be it physical, mental and alcohal/smoking. Boy, I could write a book on it. But, I'll spare you the details. I know they had some concerns about his heart during surgery.
Just could use all they prayers we can get. Guess I'm more worried about what will happen after he will be released.
Kind of putting the cart before the horse there. It'll be maybe a week.
Thanks guys,
Tom

I pray that your brother's tests show no sign of cancer.
I pray also that this becomes a turning point for him.
That he begins to embrace that fragile thing we know as life.
That he casts away those demons that seem to bind us and enslave us.
Those things that we allow to sneak into our lives that ultimately do nothing but destroy us.
I ask for a great healing to occur for you brother in His mighty name.
Amen.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your brother, you and your family.

One of my favorite bible verses (Matthew 18:19) reads, "Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything they ask, it will be done for them by their Father in heaven"

Tom,
Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. We hope that things turn out the way you want them to. I lost a loved one recently, and as the doctor reminded us, getting her through the operation was not what concerned him, but what came after.

I see you are concerned about what comes afterwards. We are in control of very few things in this life, but what we can control is how well we take care of ourselves when tough times are upon us. We can only do as much as we are able before we must turn things over to a higher power.

Reaching out to others and asking for their support definately comes under the heading of taking care of yourself.

Have faith that things will turn out well, and remember that we are often stronger than we give ourselves credit for.

May good luck be with you and your brother for many more happy landings.

BR's,
mal

Tom, I pray in agreement with Dain on this. May he get through this surgery fine, may they get all of the bad stuff out of him, may he be cancer free and demon free, that all of the bad addictions will simply leave him, and may his health improve immensely.

My own brother is in similar condition. Its horrible when a loved one or family member is suffering and going through bad times in their life. We tend to share the pain with them.

Yes of Course..
I shall get to my Prayers for Your Brother and you..
May our Lord Bless you and your family this day..

Thanks guys.
Still no word. Just sitting here in the waiting room. By the amount of time that has gone by without any word (3 hrs), I'm guessing that it is cancer and that they are removing part of the lung. But, as my wife says, no news is good news.
Tom

Just here to tell you that waiting SUCKS!
It has to be one of the hardest things to do.
Man, coming up on 5 hours now.

Tom

Will keep your brother in my prayers. I understand the "joy" of waiting while a loved one is in surgery. When Deb had her brain surgery, it was over 8 hours before we got the first update on how things were going...and even then it was a simple "She's doing well, surgery is progressing nicely. Now, sit down, shut up, let the doc work. When he is done, he'll be out to see you." 6 hours later, the doc was done and out to see us. Man, sitting on those uncomfortable hospital waiting room chairs for 14 hours...that was pure agony.

Just talked to the Doctor. It is cancer and they removed about one third of his right lung along with the lymph nodes.
Sending all that out and should know by Tuesday what's next for treatment.
As for the waiting room, it's pretty nice. Better than Johns Hopkins.
Well, off to the 6th floor ICU.
Thanks again for all the prayers and kind words of encouragement.

Tom....So sorry to hear your news.. I am really starting to hate this C thing...its all aroung me these days...I know your anziety over it..

Dear Lord, In the name of your son, Jesus Christ, I ask that you remove this horrible thing from all who are plaqued with it , spare them this missery, for both them and their loved ones. I ask in your name, my strength and courage are found in you, and I ask this with my faith in all you do. Amen...

Tom - having just been through the waiting for the surgeon (5.5 hrs) during my wife's transplant, I can completely sympathize. Time seems to crawl along about 5 hours a minute. I hope your brother comes through OK and that the surgeons were able to remove all of the cancer. My heartfelt prayers for you and your brother. Keep hanging out here, and hang in there.

.
Your brother has mine as well, Tom. Not all can be cured, though all can be healed. Blessings to you & your family.
