Couple of Jet Portovers(quicky projects)

These are a couple of quick portover projects for a couple of FS9 jets that are very nice and run very well in FSX. I will post the easy updates in two posts here in this thread to separate everything. All components are easily accessible freeware so there's no headaches in placing everything together. First, there's Roland's Mirage IV which can be downloaded at Flightsim.com in two parts under file names mir4vol1 and mir4vol2. In the files for that model, there is a folder of screen shots that show a native model being worked on that looked very promising but I'm not sure what became of that So, here is the portover update.

Download and install ab_f16_.zip(using the gauge components(KO_F16_FX folder) installing that folder into your FSX gauges folder.

Copy the envmap.bmp(attached above) to all aircraft texture folders of the model(this will remove the "swirling" effect from the glass textures/guages)

You will also need the Freeware Iris Classics Mig-29 Afterburner effects

Panel Cfg Entry:

size_mm=32,32
visible=0
pixel_size=32,32

Next is the Team KBT Mitsubishi F-2A. The best version of this model for portover is from Simviation as file name: f2a_dko.zip. It already has all the thumbnails in the texture folders so it cuts down on the workload.

Download a copy of the freeware Iris Classic F-15C and use the Afterburner Effects from it/install them to your FSX/Effects folder.

Copy the envmap.bmp(attached above) to all aircraft texture folders of the model.

Next, copy & paste these edits to the same locations/entries in the Cfg file and then save.

That's it! Enjoy!

I can't see anything outside the canopy at night on the F-2. Is there a way to fix it? Great job on the AB effect btw.

I will look into that in a few minutes(starting the sim now) and see if the problem happens on my end. I will update my results in a bit. It should be a fairly easy fix.

(Edit). I had the same issue and spotted a couple of other things that need to be done. For now, it will work in daylight flight conditions. When I get a little time in the coming days, I'll get this and the other bugs sorted. If any member trying this update spots any other obvious bugs or can fix what Stefano found, feel free to jump in.
