1) how do you tell which version install you have 1.4, 1.54....etc in pto, maw, eto. Lame I know and I'm aware this has been covered but with an upcoming ETO patch there's that idiot gremlin asking...did I update last time??? Well of course you did...but how do you verify it failing to find the thread that's already dealt with just this question already?

2} effects files...........the OZ X site has an effects file for ETO included with the Spitfire....and blithely tells you to overwrite if asked. I don't know enough about overwrite on text files to be sure I'm not cutting my throat to see a pretty cockpit or tracer...whatever. Does an overwrite for the effect file like this one....just add anything new or does it replace the file top to bottom? Sure...you can save a back-up but I'd still like to know

OK...a third if you please...fly that dandy little Martlet in MAW.....loadouts include rockets but they don't show under the wings...they do however providentially shoot out from the engine cowling. Is it me or a fix I might find? thx

Thanks......GAW

:kilroy:Gaw, there is no upcoming ETO patch.

1) The only ETO packages available are 1.0, 1.20, and 1.40. ETO 1.30 and 1.31 are incorporated into ETO 1.40, and have thus been discontinued.

One quick way to find out if you updated is to look in your aircraft folder. If you have a folder with the name of ETO_He162A-2 on, you're up to date.

If you look in the folder named CFS3 ETO Expansion READMEs in the main game folder and see any files with names containing "1.40" in the title, you're up t date.

2) The Spitfire package to which you refer was intended for ETO 1.20 and stock CFS3 only. Dropping the effects.xml file from this package into ETO 1.40 will destroy many new effects developed for the ETO 1.30, 1.31, and 1.40 package.

For the record, the use of that Spitfire package into ETO 1.40 would be highly redundant. They are already there.

Hope this helps.:d

Rockets were not operationally available on FAA Martlets or Wildcats at any stage in the war, although the fittings were developed and trialled on MkIVs. Equally, underwing attachment points were not available at the stage covered by MAW, so you might as well delete the loadouts other than "clean" in any case. Don't try that if you don't know how.

thank you both for your lucid replies.....grizz, suspicions confirmed on the effects file question...I should have know you guys had already made the play and ndicki....i'll pull the rockets. Thanks again both of you.........great forum...Happy New Year
