CPU/GPU load question

For those of you who are already up and running, are you experiencing any additional CPU/GPU heat loading? I'm more concerned with increased cooling fan noise as the sound of cooling fans cycling in and out or running full blast can drive me nuts. I'm still kicking around building a new computer gaming rig and don't want to end up with a noisy computer by choosing the wrong components.

Thanks,

Tommy

Yes! I have never heard my computer work so hard as when I am in 2024. However, when I am using the Q3 headset, the ambient sounds of 2024 drown out the fan noise.

Surprisingly, I haven't noticed any increased fan noise. Could be these old man ears of mine. (I am receiving my first set of hearing aids from the VA in two weeks.)

I have the same problem, just no Q3 headset.

Sounds familiar, my RTX4060 GPU was running at 96% all the time, even in menus. Once I disabled NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation and enabled V-Sync the problem was gone.

This is what I use now:
NVIDIA DLSS Super Resolution = Quality
NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation = Off
V-Sync = On

Mine is AMD all the way, maybe that's why it doesn't go super hot? No overclocking, either.

I never got the game to run properly and uninstalled it, however didn't notice any additional fan noise over 2020. I had V-Synch enabled too, so that sounds like a good call.

As you can see I'm also on full AMD. I have noticed though that it only happens with 2020 airplanes.

I made a long flight using Lionheart's Pasped Skylark, which transfered automatically from the MP. It had no instrument dials, or faces, but the needles all worked! Most buttons and switches worked, but the scratches in the plexiglass were extremely excessive. Anyway, I paid attention to my fans and heat out put in the exhausting air, especially through the CPU radiator. Did not notice the fans being any louder, but there was definitely more heat coming from the radiator. The case exhausts were not noticeably warmer, including the exhaust from the GPU. I was flying in and out of clouds, and getting blown around quite a bit from the downdrafts, flew over Los Angeles, California with never a stutter a noticeable jump into view caused by LODs. The scenery was smooth and natural in viewing near to far. Mountains did not change constantly, clouds did not "pop" into view, and vegetation only came into focus as I got closer, it did not "pop."

None of those 2020 airplanes seem to work correctly. My mouse always messes up and they perform horribly. I've been trying them out as there are a few that I wish would work well. I'm close to the point to just giving up on them. Right now, I try them, and they don't work properly and are in my community folder, I remove them.

Ok, but I rarely buy things from the MP. So maybe it's just M$ rendering non-MP stuff unusable. I wouldn't put it past them.

I'll check MP stuff that was originally 2020.

This was one from the 2020 MP and is streamed in. I have some of the ones that have been shown in screenshots here, but not all. I usually bought from the Market Place in the early years of MSFS2020, especially until they started allowing the military planes, but no weapons. Bill (Lionheart) only sold his 2020 aircraft through the MP. I haven't tried moving any 2020 aircraft over, yet, including those that have already posted patches.

When my sim refused to launch, during the installation of the update last week, I had just downloaded FlySimWare's update for the Cessna 414AW, which was to make it compatible with 2024, and running the patch automatically installed itto 2024 community folder. It was the only plane in the community folder, along with three updated sceneries from ORBX and three from SimMarket, as well as Lorbysi's axis & ohs update. When the sim wouldn't start, the first thing I did was remove the entire community folder. Didn't help. I have not tried reinstalling anything, yet.

The Pasped Skylark flew well, but take-off was a crash before it got off the ground, because CG was way off, and the pitch and wing bank lock switches (autopilot?) were on. I have the "ignore crashes" set to on, so that just launched the plane to around 3000', which is what I had set in preflight in the Tablet. First landing was also a crash, my fault, let it get to slow, and was landing downwind in 15kt + wind. (Read the flight planner readout wrong.) Second attempt was passable.

Yea, I have some that are streamed in but don't work. I just try to remember which ones they are and avoid them. Wish they didn't even bother streaming them in until they are updated and brought up to snuff.

Oh, while I'm thinking of it, If you feel like you are missing stuff, check out the liveries of other planes. I found more than one aircraft in the livery section of completely different aircraft. I put up a post on the msfs forum how that whole system of organizing aircraft and liveries is a complete mess. Like I said there, "who tested this thing?" I think it was Elmer Fudd.
