Hello.
Coming up to the release of the new Beech-18 from www.cr1-software.com
As part of the installation I was wondering if any of you would mind if I put the Cr1 logo at the bottom of the FS-2004 splash screen of Fs2004.

If you want to see the new Cr1 logo go to the Cr1 software web page and scroll to the bottom of the home page and on the right you will see it.

As for the New Beech 18 I will be showing you screens of this jaw droping up grade soon. Or one of my Beta crew will be let loose on the forums to splash the world with shots of this incredible addon.

Thanks.

That is one of the things I hate about A2A/Wings of Power planes.

Its nice to have that splash screen option but I don't want any installer adding/changing one without giving me the option to not install it.

Flight Simulator is all about Options and how we customize it. Just provide the optional splash screens and maybe instructions on how to change it for those who feel inclined to install them but don't know how.

Dave

One of the things I hate about installers myself. If I wanted a Start Menu item, I'd add it. If I want a new splash screen to replace the custom one I use now, I'll add it, etc., etc.

Surely you can see the meaning. Would you by a vehicle that said Home Depot on the side of it?

You asked....we answered :monkies:

Very right not criticism at all.

You see the thing is I have multiple installs of FS9.

One of them is what I call Military Wings.

Its all Military Aircraft. I modified the language.dll to say Military Wings instead of Flight Simulator. It uses its own folder "Military Wings Files" for saved flights and the default flight in the MyDocuments folder.

I created my own Splash Screen for this install of FS9.

Last night I installed my A2A Wings of Power Heavy Bombers and Jets Package and my Wings of Power P-51 Mustangs Package.

Now I have to delete their Splash Screen and reinstall the one I made just for this installation.

That's why I don't want it automatically installed.

I like Options. Options are good.

What I wantto do Is give you a choice to install it or not, The splash will be of the Beech 18 in my custom enviroment that I have been working on for 4 years, on that picture will be the logo.
The whole thing can be used as a desk top as well.

So Of course you will be given a choice, when have I ever forced my stuff on you. Take it or leave it is my moto when it come to this.

So When you get the little extra package that is included there will be a splash screen and if you hit the install button it will install it to where ever you want.

And Yes I am seriously considering retireing from this hobie.

But not untill I finish the beech.

Tom

Tom, it's just that there's a lot of us that are, to say the least, highly suspicious of auto-installers. I should know - I'm one of 'em. If you'd like to offer the spash screen, why not just offer it as a free download on your site?

Matter of fact, if you really want to please the masses [personal opinion only here], offer the Beech in two formats - auto-install for the novice user and manual install zip for those of us who know our way around our setups. In business, offering a choice will give your customer a sense of security in their purchase.

Explains why I haven't received any response from my PMs or emails.

Whatever you decide Tom, Thanks VERY much for all you've done for my flightsim experience. I wish you well:ernae:

Could go both ways I suppose, Its not getting a regy modual as its going so rediculously low cost that I dont know why any one would steal it... but im sure some low wattage moron will waste his band width up loading it to some torrent site hehe.
I can have a winzip set up like the old days, its a lot easier to set up for sure. And they dont carry viruses either on the way down the pipe.

I try to get back to every one as soon as I can.
I get alot of emails, and thats the best way to get to me just send me an email you will for sure get a responce. I really dont have to much time to come here anymore with the kids and wife and the new site. I have trouble flying with my saturday night buddies too.
But when I see how incredible the Beech 18 is now and the responce from the beta crew Its nice to hear.
So get your hangars ready its coming your way.
3 differant vcs , 2 2d panels. A super good air file, all new sounds brand new xml gauges/photo realistic too! and some very cool liveries.
Clickable vc and all the other stuff you guys want.
Thanks!

No one expects you to miss out on life (or at least they shouldn't). If you need to take a sabbatical or slow down production go right ahead! Life's too short.

Your re-issue of the Beech 18 is gonna make me choose again between yours and Milton's.:jump::jump::jump:

Miltons is free ware isnt it? And mine is 7 bucks so you can get both...lol!

Hello Crashwoody1,

1) Logo is great. As a self employed person, I know it's hard to come up with a decent logo, and it's importance.

2) If you supply an awesome splash screen that has your logo on it, why would we not want to use it.

3) You can't just bail. You've put too much into the website, logo, Beech, and a million other things we don't even know about.

4) But you have to remember, I'm "just this guy".

man, i think that's a great idea. i wish everyone would do that. :applause:

I think so as well, I did offer a winzip and a exe option years ago when I released the Do 335 and it was very popular and cut down on alot of customer service issues.

With the advent of newer operateing systems out there I think it might be wise to do just that.
I will build the splash screens ( I have a pile of them now) and if you choose you can install them in your flight sim but you can use them for desk top back grounds as well.
They feature just the beech 18 in my new World enviroment I have been working on for a few years now. So the sun the clouds and land textures are way differant then in the sim, alot more 3d and realistic.
Thanks for your input.

I will most likely stick it out but its a hard go some times when your a one man show.
Somethings in flight sim I just dont know very well so I have to learn it all and thats great but slows down production, but I dont think it matters much as long as the finished product is good.
The Beech 18 is real nice Im very happy with its development.
The Beech 17 how ever has some issues that are makeing me pull my hair out..lol :173go1: but it will be a great one in the end as well. The Spad is awesome! Nothing more to say there...lol
The Claudes are so detailed Its scares me to open the project folders up...lol!:kilroy:

So big year for you guys and me in 2010. And Im keeping things either freeware or under ten dollars as well. So I can pay for the site and make it so you guys can afford a cr1 addon.
I just want to enjoy my hobie not trying to get rich here.
Thanks!
Tom Wood/Crashwoody

Keep it up! The site looks very nice and is easy to navigate. Your prices are great! I will be trying your freeware out tonight, the screenies look awesome.
