Create an FSX jumplist (Windows 7 tip)

Do you have a set of programs that you regularly launch for flying? Since WinXP, you could create a custom toolbar. Get those icons off the desktop and onto the taskbar! Or, if you have Windows 7, create a custom jumplist with this little proggy here: http://en.www.ali.dj/jumplist-launcher.

Here's mine. It's kind of like a mini-Start menu, only its contents don't shift around and you can organize it by category, with just the items that you choose. Sure, you could pin all these items to your task bar, but then you would have no room for anything else. With Jumplist Launcher, there's just the one icon which you right-click to get the jumplist menu.

Nice tip, David! Windows 7 definitely has some helpful tweaks to the file browsing system. My favorite so far is the ability to add various folders on my HD to my library, making it available through the Documents menu item. I'll look into this jumplist app today.

One other that I find not only useful but fun is RocketDock, which essentially emulates the program launch bar in the MacOS. http://rocketdock.com/
