Flame On!
I admit I don't spend much time in the '40s, but last night I was flying a Hurricane on an intercept mission (home defense) and everything was going fine. We were flying along, I was checking out the great scenery and the cockpit of the Hurricane and the CRASH! I was looking at my desktop. No warning, no stutter, no nothing. My rig should be more than enough to handle the sim. With a little o/c I can run OFF at full whack with 40-60fps.
Any ideas? Suggestions? Any and all would be appreciated. I was looking forward to tangling with the Luftwaffe!

Thanks for the reply! I had just started a campaign in #2 1940, first mission. I can't recall the airbase or even the squadron. Like I said, I don't play it much and am kind of green. I haven't learned it's idiosyncrasies yet. I will try some more. Maybe it's just a chance happening. I was just wondering if anyone else had the same problem.

ok, this may be the problem of the CTD: you have run a 1940 campaign with stock spawn mode.
doing this, CFS3 tried to spawn USA aircrafts, vehicules, ships or whatever and, as there is nothing from USA with an entry service date prior to 1942, the game crashed. I had CTD in the past due to spawn with wrong setup.

What I suggest is to run the ETO spawn selector and select 5. Allied Side Attack in the West campaign.
 
Now I can't even get the sim to start. I select "2", hit enter, and then any key. I get the first "flash screen" and then CTD. What I might do is uninstall it and start over. I just re-downloaded all my sims just to have "fresh" files, so I'll try that and let you know how I fare. It won't take long. Thanks for your help.

:kilroy:Cameljockey, there are no campaigns as yet for Era 2. Era 1 has Phoney War and Battle of France. The 1943, 1944, and 1945 Campaigns are for Era 3, Era 4, and Era 5, respectively.

Set the Spawn Selector for the Era and side you're flying within the proper Era.:d
