• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

  • Server side Maintenance is done. We still have an update to the forum software to run but that one will have to wait for a better time.

Hi all.
May by some one can help me.
For the first time, i am crashing to desktop,
no matter what i do.
Short of a C: format, i am lost.

Totally uninstalling and a thorough cleaning
of Folders and registry, does nothing.

A clean install and no additions what so ever,
still results in CTD.
All ways at the same point. Loading into game.

No updates to PC have been installed.
CFS2 was fine yesterday and today it is not.

CTD has never been a problem for me.
Never install more then one add on at a time.
Therefore this CDT has me baffled.

been a long time since i did cfs2. have you installed any new soft/hardware? have you done a system restore to an earlier time?
what's the machine specs? which operating system win98 2000 xp etc?
really gotta have these to help

I have been using CFS2 for 8 yrs now.
So, i know a CFS2 CDT pretty well.
When not even a totally clean inst. will change anything,
some thing is amiss with my PC.

I'm shelfing it, until i have reason for a format.

OMG i hate it when that happens! Good luck, I've had a similar problem and was without my digibox for the last 3 days. At least i was able to keep everything, but now IL2 won't run in OpenGL! No perfect H2O!
 
Its probably a problom with you video Card. Have updated it lately with its newer drivers.

Have you tried this:

In the CFS2.cfg change this:

LOADWINDOW=0

to this:

LOADWINDOW=1

See if that fixes it.

Yes, it was a problem with video card, windows related.
Spybot progr. had (w/my permission),
changed a registry start up of "a critical service
(.NET Runtime Optimization Service v2.0.50727_X86)
,if this service is stopped...bla bla...."
Restored... and all is good.
MPlaying on Reverb w/Layout Files added to .gsl
Works great 50-250 FPS.
Stupid mistake, not a CFS2 problem.
That much was clear.

I did not figure it out really.
1 other game (Hidden Beta4a on Steam)
behaved the same way.
I have had Spybot mess up my windows
before, so looking in Windows/Services
i could see that a service had been stopped.

Yup i remember now same happened to me once.
