I want to use specific call signs in my FS9 flights. How can I get ATC and my radio calls to use the call sign CZAR 01 during flight operations. I know I can get ATC to address me as Air Force or Navy and then the flight number. How do I customize it?

are you trying to make the voice say "see-zar 1" or "Charlie Zulu Alpha Romeo zero one"?

If you want "see-zar" then the only way i know of is by using the software Voice Edit (freeware) and create the sound/association yourself.

the latter should be easy...just put CZAR01 in the ATC id...

Okay, lets take it from the top.

First, there are the entries for each aircraft. Here are mine from the AlphaSim Blackshark:

atc_airline=ISRAELI
atc_flight_number=923

The ATC recognizes me as Israeli 923. The atc_airline entry has to be created with EditVoicePack as a callsign. There are standard callsigns with FS9 you can use such as 'Air Force', 'Navy', etc. (without the quote marks).

FengZ is correct on answering your specific need. You can set the atc_flight_number=CZAR01, but the ATC will read it back phonetically as Charlie-Zulu-Alpha-Romeo-Zero-One or something like that. If you want it to say "CZAR" as one callsign, then you have to use EditVoicePack.

Second, you can also use EditVoicePack to create custom aircraft manufacturers and models. These are changed under the [general] section as follows:

[General]
atc_type=Kamov
atc_model=Ka50

Where this comes in handy is if you don't use an ATC_Airline= entry, then the ATC will read the atc_type instead. In other words you will be recognized as Kamov 923.

Thanks,

I have a great T-37 program and when I flew them at Craig AFB, Selma, Al my call sign was SPY 67. When I flew B-52's at Fairchild my call sign as chief evaluator pilot (crew S01) was CZAR 01 ( Like the Russian ruler). I was curious about how to have the call signs spoken by ATC. I've peeked at the instructions in the software you mentioned and I think I'll save if for a little later. Thanks for the information. :ernae:
