I'd like to pester the authors about permissions for a (gasp!) dark-side native version. George Lindell or Gerry Lindell still around anywhere, or, who has the 'signing authority' these days for the old Hun?

The old girl translated nicely on the first pass, phenomenal frames, everything correct in sense and direction, slat scheduling and flight model c'est bon. I've just to slide in an animated drag chute and boarding ladder- still struggling:stupid: with visibility conditions (which seem to have no constant, at times-I plead dumbness, and I find it simpler just to animate that kind of stuff)

You might want to save yourself some trouble, its already been done----

Its in my hanger and gets flown often, although, the Milviz model is on my shopping list

cheers ian

The model was donated by the Classic Warbird Design Team, which consisted of at least one of the Lindell brothers (George and Gerald), Andrew C. Wai and Sophocles (and most likely more).

I haven't heard or seen anything from the Lindell brothers for a very long time. The last thing I know from Sophocles (Phanis) is that he was playing in a band in Greece. I lost contact with him in 2009. Andrew C. Wai was known as AcWai here at the SOH but hasn't been active since 2011.......

I'm still in contact with André van Duin, who did their dp files in the CFS2 age. I will ask him whether he still has contact with anyone of them.

Cheers,
Huub

Thanks, Huub. Due diligence gets interesting with eleven year old Email addresses.
While Milviz undoubtedly has a lovely product...this is an F-100C...and I'm cheap.:biggrin-new:

I can honestly say, that the MV F-100D is my favorite jet plane to fly in my hangar. It is well worth the purchase. This is one jet that you should not wait any longer than necessary to get a hold of. I love everything about it. Fun, fast, feature filled, Fantastic! Flown and found functional for future flights for phillies and fellas alike! Phew! Seriously, I have had sincere conversations with other beta testers about how much we're going to miss flying this HUN regularly. It's very accurate. Had the chance to fly formation with one of the beta testers fathers who was a HUN driver, and he absolutely loved it and had major input into all aspects of development. A great plane. But yes, not a -C model. :jump:

Sophocles is in Australia, I'm here and my brother doesn't do this anymore. Of course Andrew is famous here and should be. I tried to contact David C. Copley but he hasn't replied to my attempts. Don't know about gramps and some of the others. I'm 77 now so will die soon LOL. I hope I get fs2020 going before I do.

I believe the F-100 is in the Warbirds Library. I have the native FSX version and helped with the conversion if only to redo the VC texturing. I don't remember having to input any password though and no idea where I downloaded the conversion (it's been 8 years now).

NOTAM: Reading the readme, one early conversion of the FS9 model to work in FSX was done by "Henk"(hschuit) dated March 2010, however the native FSX conversion I have is dated 2016 and was done by "LLC" in 2016. He states that despite an exhaustive search for anyone connected with the original work failed to get any response he decided to proceed on the provisions of the MS Shareware EULA: modifications of existent software to restore functionality and ensure compatibility in later OS's and MSFS platforms subsequent to FS2002/2004.

Well, putting all that I found into one probable scenario: When the conversion was done in 2016 by LLC and since I was a contributor, I most likely had a working copy of the Hun which is why I have what appears to be the only native FSX copy on SOH at this point. There is a native FSX version on Rikoo but I don't use them and know nothing about the site.

If anyone can contact any of the original team that produced this airplane and get permission to release what I have, I'll be more than happy to do so.
