Very nice repaint again Jan Kees! However I have one remark, the aircraft was flown by the Sqn Ldr Jeffries and is unique, because it is the only Mohawk known which carried a score board! So there is still some work left......

Ha ha Jan Kees, yep it is even better than it already was!

It is not difficult to have many books, bit its difficult to remembers what is in them. And when you have many books, it is even more difficult to remember which picture is in which book. (And in my case often "where did I leave this book")

I like this picture because it clearly shows weathering, worn paint where the pilot and crew walk over the wing root and polished rivets where paint has disappeared.
When I saw your repaint I wondered whether it should not have been grey/green, but I have not been able to find any evidence.

SLdr C G StD Jefferies appears in many Google searches. In fact he appears in the list of BoB fighter pilots when he served with both 3 & 232 Squadrons RAF (Hurricanes) as a Pilot Officer. He also served in the defence of Malta and from the photos posted by Huub it looks like the score board markings are Italian which makes sense. He apparently served in the RAF for many years after WWII and reached the rank of Wing Commander (acting). One reference even has him quoted as an RAF liason/advisory officer on the "BoB" film. Quite a bit of data there but nowhere could I find reference to his being Welsh despite the "Cymru am Byth" - Wales Forever markings on his Mohawk. Another clue is in his name as the StD is probably associated with St. Davids in West Wales.

Anyway if anyone can find firm reference to him being Welsh, born in Wales or of Welsh parents then I would be most interested to hear.

In the meantime nice repaint Jan Kees, I look forward to downloading it when it appears.

TeaSea, actually at this very moment I am putting 8 cupboards together........ but my main problem is the fact that I surround myself with books while working and I don't put them back!
Its a bad habbit, which none of these cupboards will solve!

John, I'm pretty sure I have an article somewhere with a profile and details a drawing from the Welsh dragon. However I looked for it on all usual places, but was not able to fine it. The article contained the story behind this dragon on this aircraft, but I have forgotten the details. I have looked for it a bit yesterday but I'm afraid I was not able to find it. When I find it I will scan it an send it to you, although experience learns that I won't be able to find it when I look for it, but somewhere I will come across it.

warchild, no it is not silent, the nearest English pronunciation would be I think bith the y is pronounced I as far as I can remember from my school days 60 years ago and is still the same for me.

Thank you.. I'm afraid i've got about a toothpicks wirth of knowledge of the welsh and celtic languages, and honestly, even though i try hard, i get so totally confused ..

Rich has answered correctly on the "Byth" having no silent letters, but just for the record the whole motto "Cymru am Byth" (Wales Forever) would be pronounced near enough as "Cumree am Bith". Can't help the comment, lol, my mum spoke Welsh as a first language but she only spoke English to my Dad who was also born in Wales but didn't speak a word of Welsh. Looking forward to the "Black Widow, progress looks good".
