I am having real trouble getting any kamikazes through that AA fire from all of the BPF gunners around my carriers!

Just as the kamikazes roll in on their bomb run from above and into their dives, the AA make a direct hit and all that hits my BPF carriers is fire or maybe a piece of aircraft. :redfire::redfire::pop4:

I am playing with the altitudes and seeing if that helps.

They don't even get low enough to release the bomb and start the engine on fire with zero bomb count trigger!:banghead:

I may try bringing a couple in low with the torpedo option kamikaze....

What skill level are they set to? I'ved noticed the same in most non stock ships, the AA gunners are lethal which is fine as by later in war allied AA fire control was excellent.However, I know at times it is annoying just how good they are, it makes flying from the Japanese side very difficult.I found leaving them set to rookie helps kill the hawkeye gunnery some.I know little about the BPF ships for CFS 2 so may not matter what skill just a suggestion.
 
Two things you can do. Give the AA more difflection or add more damage points to the ACs. You could also remove a few guns if you wanted. Try the hit points first.

I will try setting the ships to ROOKIE first and see if that does it.

Then I will look at the files for the ships from Pen32Win.....

From everything I have been reading, the BPF AA gunners were pretty accomplished by this time in the war.
Most of the kamikaze aircraft that hit their ships were pretty torn up and on fire by the time of impact.
Many just had glancing blows, though a few came almost straight down into the deck from an almost 90 degree angle.

Uncle Tgt did some modifications of the VN versions of RN fleet carriers which are quite nice. I had two kamikazes actually impact HMS Victorious, as the mission calls for, and she had two separate deck fires and remained afloat and under way.
AND, of course, in the next mission set, HMS Victorious is launching and recovering aircraft at full speed into the wind.
Those BPF iron flight decks! Superb!

I had to overwhelm the British gunners with lots of kamikaze aircraft to actually get those two aircraft to impact her, but I did get it done. I will cut the aircraft down to the actual mission numbers and cut the skill level of the ships and see if that works.

It's probably the Dido class CLs getting the kills. I think Stuart used the dp file from the VN USS Santa Fe, so there's probably a couple of 5" twins per hull too many.

The ship dp files need a lot of timw spent on them. When I did the Illustrious class upgrade I just used some Essex configurations & moved the boxes & positions around using DPedit. I also cheated with the armoured deck, all I did was to increase the life points for each flight deck box.
I really should have created fresh ones.:a1089:But who has time to spend on that? :p87:

I am just VERY HAPPY with what you did to make those BPF carriers virtually invincible to kamikaze attacks, as was substantially the case!
Now that I am overwhelming the gunners with multiple aircraft I am able to actually impact on them with attack kamikaze aircraft.

BTW, can you take a look at the LW_HMNZS_Achilles for me? In the sim she is pure white. For whatever reason(s) her textures are not showing up.
