A not-so-efficient way to hide a winglet of a B747-400... they apparently can have an impact on nearby buildings...

Oh boy! Civilians use standards a lot tighter than the military uses. I have seen civilians come a lot closer to ground objects during taxi than the USAF publishes as limits. I suppose in the aggregate those differences result in higher profits. But, seeing what happens I am shocked taxi incidents don't happen a lot more often!

The four people injured were in the building. Can you imagine the shock of working in your office and have a huge wing slice through your area!

In actuality, it seems the root of the mishap was lack of what is actually called Safe Taxi. You have a highly accurate airport diagram on your GPS moving map display. It shows pilots precisely how to taxi and it seems this flight crew went down the wrong taxiway. In other words, it seems they got lost on the ground and went down a taxiway they should not have. Safe Taxi technology may have helped them avoid that result!
