Dating in 1961

Good thing I wasn't drinking coffee while watching that, the keyboard would've got wet!!! :d

Well, in 61 I was a bit too young to do the Screw or Twist. ;) Even tho I got it all sorted out by 68.... 69 was a mighty fine year. :d ;)

Very funny! :icon_lol: :applause:

That was not what I was expecting.
I was expecting something like this:

(MST3K "Treatment" softens the harsh reality of the film) :icon_lol:

In '61, my 6th grade geography teacher ( Miss Globes ) taught me how to Jitterbug................

In 1961 I was barely 3 years old....

... Probably traveling with my mom and dad and sis... :running:

We wished!. But hey, I had my first date in '61, be nice. Even us old pharts remember stuff like that! 9th grader. Actually the Twist became popular in early '61 while I was in the 8th grade.

Same time period I can identify with when TP and the Heartbreakers do "Runnin' Down a Dream", "Me and Del were singin 'Little Runaway'". I know you early boomers remember Del Shannon's "Runaway".

Jeez, if one could call what I did dancing, I learned to dance then!

Thanks C9G, that's a time period one never forgets, ones mid-teens, girls, pimples, sodas at a real drug store, jukeboxes, oh me, I could rhapsodize, but it would only make me miss those times that much more.

You mean, "Run, run, runaway."

Never heard of it. :d

1961 was so anti-climatic for me. You see, 1960 was the year. I grew up hearing about the Fatima children and how in 1960 the Pope would reveal to the world the locked secret the Virgin Mary told Lucy, the oldest of the children.

The contents of that long kept secret from heaven were the talk of may a clothesline section and debate. It was Y2K, End of the World and UFOs coming to save us from ourselves, or destroys us for our sins (depending on whether you were a optimist or pessimist) all wrapped up into one secret.

I actually remember praying once that I would live to 1960 to the ripe old age of 13, so I would hear the secret. Then 1960 came and Pope Paul VI

What? You never heard of the secret? You don't remember what the great Secret of Fatima was? Neither do I. It was so anti-climatic 1961 passed by unnoticed in my part of the world.
