DC-9 for FSX? In work?

I may have asked this before. If not, am sure someone else probably has; so excuse the repeat.

But the post of the heavies screenshots reminded me. Is anyone working on a native DC-9 for FSX? It'd be great to have a FSX version with a USN C-9 repaint!

Outstanding! I get the impression from their site that release might be "soon".

It's curious though, that they don't have a forum.

Eric Cantu released all of his DC-9 source files if some one wanted to look at them or was crazy enough to convert them.

I think theres a typo there, maybe he means "HJG" "Historic Jetliners Group"...:icon29:

It's a systems sim.

I'll be posting a review at simFlight in the near future but the long and short of it is that the model is big on systems and seriously short on texture quality in the VC.

I've only flown it once so far and had all sorts of problems, but the majority of them may well be down to lack of practice handling FS DC-9s. I've not flown one since the F1 Iron Knuckles package (this isn't as good as that) so a serious session with TFM is in order before I even think about putting text in Notepad.

Thanks! In depth systems are what I want, but on the other hand I also appreciate visual quality of the model and textures:kilroy:. I consider myself pretty experienced Super80 pilot (the original with steam gauges and ONS system) so learning curve might not be that huge.

I also read that there's been some problems activating this product...

I had none (mine is a review copy through simMarket, not direct from the developer) - there was a problem with the server at first though and activation was impossible so simMarket pulled the product from sale until that was resolved. Whether the server was not set up, not enabled or just plain broken I don't know!

The VC textures are mainly photoreal and very blurred in places - they're not really up to what most people want from payware aircraft these days to be honest. Not all the controls are active, but the majority are. I wouldn't like to comment on exactly how deep the simulation is until I've done more research, but put it this way, I started taxying without turning the hydraulic pumps on and couldn't stop - the brakes didn't work at all until I raised the hydraulic pressure! :applause:

Well I'm really on the fence with this. I have been waiting DC-9 to emerge for FSX for ages, but... Maybe I'll wait for your review and perhaps Nick C can provide some sharp shots of those blurry panels
