I have the baton, errr.......

starting at AGGN, heading to AGGM for first mandatory stop

down safely at Buka. The weather was quite frightful at the beginning but cleared up nicely about halfway through, making it easy to spot island forms and correct my flight path .

arrival at Cape Gloucester -- was a tad off source, but just followed the coast till I found the little grass strip

Total flight time: 2:38:41

I'll be camped out here at the cape for a few days now

nice comfy flight up to Port Moresby, seeing land the whole way was a nice change

I've been watching your P-38 flights to see how they compare speed-wise to mine. Your AYGN-AYPY leg was 36:44 and mine was 36:43. I'd say we're pretty darn close! All of our other legs that have been the same have had durations within 2 minutes of each other. We should compare notes. :)

I see you're taking a slightly different route for these middle legs. Interesting! Best of luck!

yea, those are some pretty close comparisons. Without the GPS it's hard for me to know when to start the descent and so I've been coming in way too hot every time. Had to go around one place, because couldn't slow down fast enough before the runway. Sure wish I had those dive flaps.
