Deb's yearly visit with the neurologist

OBIO

Retired SOH Admin
Today, Deb saw her neurologist for her yearly visit. Everything went well, he is pleased with the overall outcome and her level of recovery....given the size of the tumor and how much it had compressed her brain stem and displaced the back half of her brain, things are good in terms of her recovery. He doesn't foresee any further recovery...and neither do we....and we can live with that....80% or so is far better than what it could be.

One good thing happened today....he officially took Deb off her seizure medication. She had, on her own, cut back from the original dosage of 2 500mg pills a day to one 500mg pill a day....to now she only takes 1/2 of a pill twice a week. He said that at that dosage, it wasn't doing anything at all and that she is most likely past the seizures. Now, this step clears the way for her to regain her driving priviledges in a couple years....in Ohio one has to be seizure free for 3 years...Deb's 2nd and last seizure was in April 2009. I mentioned to her on the way home that she is only a year and a half away from being cleared for driving...and she said that she doesn't think she will go back to driving....but she may well change her mind in the coming months and months...she's a woman, so she changes her mind faster than I change my undershorts.

well this is good news obio...recovery is recovery..and 80% is nothing to sneeze at...im happy for her and you that shes made it this far.....as far as changing her mind as often as you do undies....im sure she changes her mind more than once every 6 months....or is that just my schedule?

At least there is some good news OBIO. While I do not know the whole backround story at least she has recovered 80%. Hopefully the doctor is wrong and she will continue on and improve further. At least things are looking up for you both though. Hopefully the van is doing better as well.

Wonderful news, I pray she may continue to recover..
And enjoy herself, with the Blessings may yet still come..:applause:
