• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Defraging your drive for best performance.

You want folder/file name

But you also want to go into options and assign the FSX/scenery folder to high performance. When you do finally defrag make sure "respect high performance" is checked.

I own it, and it killed a drive of mine two years ago for some reason..It all turned Red, and that was that..Done..

I now just use the free IOBIT defragger...

The only time UD damaged a drive of mine, was from a power surge when a car hit a pole in town. Ruined a lot of files, but I can't really blame it on UD. Was just bad luck.

I put the primary files under "archive", those that may only be pulled up once or twice, when loading. All your aircraft, EXCEPT AI, fall under this catagory.

I been using Disk Keeper for as long as I can remember and it has worked fine for me.They also have outstanding customer support, by phone and email. that means a lot to me...Mike

Forgive the defrag-n00b, but could I respectfully request a bit more detail on this important-sounding item?

Mainly, I need to know where (under what menu item) the "respect high performance" check is made.

[Sounds of "Let me take you by the hand . . . . "]

Thanks, Ryan!
