Interesting crash by Ryan Newman today. Glad he is ok. His car went airborne despite: 1) The roof spoilers popping open – they were invented to help kill lift and keep the car glued to the ground 2) the paved area – paved to scrub speed to keep the cars from going airborne, and 3) the smaller restrictor plate designed to slow the cars down (again), to keep them from going airborne. I don’t know what the stall speed is of a airplane wing shaped NASCAR car, but I guess it’s less than 190-ish.
