Dell Optiplex 755 mt

Looking for some advice here. My mother has recently acquired a refurbished Dell Optiplex 755 mt for a reasonable price and at my suggestion I loaded Fs9 on it. The on-board Intel Graphics are a little primitive, to say the least and I'm looking to find a reasonably priced graphics card (preferably Nvidia) that would make a difference, especially where anti-aliasing is concerned. As it is the mini tower version there are no height restrictions.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Also watch the power supply unit.

Dells are commonly equipped with small PSUs.

They also sometimes use proprietary hardware, making upgrading challenging.

cheers,
Lane

Optional video card specs: Several ATI card options at that time were installed in MT. Important... PCIE x 16 slot used.

No, it says PCIe bus, not slot. 2 different things.

I have an old Dell P4 (that I am typing this on) that has only a PCI (no little e) slot on the PCIe bus.

You have to look at the motherboard to verify what slots are available.

Also, looks like that is a BXT form factor which might make finding a new PSU challenging.
PCI predates AGP card technology and cards are darn near impossible to find these days.

cheers,
Lane

Added- sorry, made that statement based on the screenshot.

The PDF does show one PCIe x16 slot.

I would still look at the MB before spending any money.

Also, it looks like that is a BTX form factor which will make finding a new PSU challenging.
