Very ambitious project, looks great from the screenshots. :medals:

just finished downloading

i will let you know
as i do not have a great system
H

I haven't flown there in years, going back to the days of Lago and "The Flying Zone" Flying Club. I do remember the wind generators off the coast though. Looks like a terrific package.:salute:

Will download this one for sure. On my last round the world flight ( couple years agao) I found Denmark a cool place to fly with those big turbines out in the water and the bridge. I do remember as well that everytime I got close to the bridge my plane would crash even though I was not even near the structure. Since then i have crash detection off. Thank for the heads up on this one.

actually im having a problem
maybe its a bit hefty for my pc?
takes forever to load or no load at all
H

sadly it is too much for my ole pc
i did get it working but too much pressure on it
if it works for me then it should for everyone else
but its too frame heavy
for me, now that does not mean its not good for you
i have a bottom line pc
i did get it working
and what i saw was good
just not for me

It certainly looks very nice, I think I will have to give this a try.

Got it, Copenhagen is fantastic, will check out the rest as well, and I'll check to get the Danmark mesh recommended in the zip.

Cheers, R.

Got it loaded and took a quick tour in one of the default ultralights. Images are attached. Initially, my fps was around 7, lol. I went into the display setup and moved the water effects slider back from max to "High 1.x". I then moved the Scenery Complexity slider back to "Very dense" and the Autogen Density slider back to "Very dense".

I let it load the changes and when I came back into the sim, the fps was 18. For my system with that amount of scenery, that's pretty good really.

I run a dual core system @2.9ghz, 8 gig of RAM on Windows 7/64bit and an NVidia 9600GT with 512 meg., and a 22" widescreen monitor (actually two monitors, the other is a 20" widescreen).

I meant to put this in the last post.

My guess is that most of that change in fps came from the water animation. Moving it back from the max setting to "high 1.x". I should have moved to slider all the way back to the minimum setting just to see, but that's my guess based on past experiences with water settings.

Hi all

You don't need to download any additional mesh for this scenery. The mesh files are included.

I am sorry to hear that the package is too much of a challenge for Henry's old computer. I have spent quite a lot of time on optimizing the performance by combining a large number of small texture files into fewer larger ones. This reduces the number of draw calls, and it should in therory make things run smoother. I hope that at least some of you will experience an improved performance...

Kim

Hi Falcon409 (and Henry???)

I have a few questions for you.

1) Do you use UTX Europe?

2) If yes, have you used the "Add/Change/Remove FS9 Style Wave Effects" feature?

If yes, then I may have an explenation for the poor performance in the Copenhagen area. This quote is from an old thread on the SimForums UTX forum about changes in the terrain.cfg caused by this feature:

Actually it wasn't the wave animation effects causing a problem but more the lack of them.

In discussion with Allen on this, we think this could be a new FSX 'anomaly' uncovered here, so I'll explain further.

When you have something like a coastline defined in the terrain.cfg, you can specify as one parameter that it can have an effect (waves) associated with it. If you want large waves then you have the line

Effect=wavecontroller

if you want small waves i.e. for inland lakes, you use

Effect=lakewavecontroller

Now when you use the UTX Setup Tool to set the wave effect to none, it was changing the parameter to read

Effect=

As I discovered, it is having this entry with nothing after the Effect= which causes the FSX scenery engine to choke and badly impact framerates.

The workaround is therefore to make sure you have one of the two wave controller effects listed (which is the quick test I did with you), or, if you have no wave effect then remove the Effect= line completely.

We'll be looking to put in something in the future to make sure that when you have no wave effects selected via the UTX Setup Tool for one of the coastlines in the list, we'll not leave an Effect= line with no value and remove it instead.

Jeff

I hope that this will solve the problem for you.

Regards
Kim

I've downloaded this scenery in a few of the past versions and found them to be excellent, informative and extensive. I spent a day or two searching out all the features listed in the included list.

From what I see in the photos download at flightsim.com are a number of (new?) airfields. I will eventually download this new version to include in my collection of scenery. The previous versions are among the best freeware available.

It works fine on my Phenom II X4 940 3.0GHz. The only problem I found was that the rig Dan Bravo didn't have an exclude for the default object but this was fixed within the hour.
