Developer Woes....

Lionheart

SOH-CM-2014
You know you're a Developer when you.......

* You look at a screenshot, and reach over to the HAT switch on the Joystick to rotate the view and wonder why its not rotating...

* You're in a flight in FS and you find you cannot bring up the Photoshop Pallette panels in the flight window...

* Youre in a flight and you go to hit the Arrow keys to see the next screenshots, as though you were looking at a screenshot instead of the plane in flight...

* You hit V key to rotate the view in Flight Simulator and find its not working. (View key is in Gmax for rotating the object around).

* You're in a flight and you want to go to Mesh view to see the model construction, so you hit the F3 key, and the engine increases a bit instead.... Again, another Gmax mishap and you realise you arent in Gmax but in FS...

Haha, that's awesome and so true. :)

If I may add one?....

* You've worn the markings off your "Reload User Aircraft" key on your keyboard (asterisk in my case)

* You try to use CTRL and ALT + Middle mouse button to change your view in FSX. Max users will get that one.

Hit the W key, and all you get is a panel. The plane's panel that is, not the four Max windows. Least on my system...
Well, actually I don't get those problems mentioned above...

Yep, but sporadically. Happens almost daily that i reach for the HAT to rotate my model in GMax or Max ( since a week or two... :mixedsmi: ), mostly after a test in FS. Always makes me laugh and look over my shoulder if nobody seen it... :d

Btw, thanks for the 'V' , pretty handy. I never use key shortcuts, hate remembering them. I shall never forget Ctrl/Alt/B to reposition a model against a background image though. :)

Cheers,
Jan

As a painter I am forever trying to use the tophat to change viewpoint on a JPG...

...and cursing under my breath when I realise what I am doing...:icon_lol::icon_lol:

This is sort of related to #1 above, but countless times I have been watching a video on Youtube where the camera is mounted either behind the pilot or on the instrument panel glareshield and I've been trying to turn my head to look out the side of the plane :icon_lol: (thanks track-IR)

Ive done the hat thing more then I care to admit.

You know youre a developer when... Your dreams are of designing in Max.

Last night I had a vivid dream of Pro Boolean operands. :kilroy:

You know you're a Developer when you...

- get tired of constantly reloading FSX.

The sim needs a "developer mode". No scenery, just the graphics engine for aicraft designers and just a patch of the land in question for scenery designers.

I can't count the number of times I have done the same or looked at a screenshot and tried moving my head to see more of the cockpit and nothing happens! :isadizzy:

You know you're a dev when you start seeing the max interface in your dreams...

you know you're a dev when you do ctrl z during a "bad" landing...

you know you're a dev when you have to look at the gear going up and down one more time. (even if you're at mach 2)

You know you are a dev when you do all your flying in slew mode....

I use an updated for FSX Crosshairs Plus for slewing about. One day I was checking the Pilot Records and saw all these rewards for Helo flying?? Seems the Crosshairs Plus has an aircraft.cfg for rotorcraft, so I'm building all these rewards and log time for a type of aircraft I know nothing about and have no skills in. But it looks good on paper!

And I seem to spend more time hitting Alt-W-S to reload the scenery in FSX than I do working on it...:isadizzy:
