I am putting the finishing touches to a herd of repaints for Edward Cook's DH Don. While the serial numbers on the planes are from within the run of those actually used on the planes, do not expect to find 100% accurate repaints. What I did to add some variety to the plane was to go through my RAF color chart and pick out a good number of colors that I really like and do over-all paint jobs in those colors. Aircraft Gray Green, Dark Mediterranean Blue, Duck Egg Blue, Duck Egg Green, Extra Dark Sea Green, Olive Drab, Light Aircraft Gray, Pru Blue, Sky, and Trainer Yellow. These paints are shinier than they most likely would have been on wooden built trainers from the WW2 period...but they sure do look nice and give the flier a nice selection of options to choose from.
I tried a nice Dark Green and Dark Earth over Trainer Yellow camo scheme...similar to what was seen on the Hurricanes before and during the early part of the war...but the way the plane is mapped the camo did not work so well on the vertical stabilizers. Which is a shame as the plane looked so good in that paint job.
Will get them packaged sometime tomorrow and uploaded.
