Milton Shupe's Beech (converted to CFS3 by Pat Pattle) and Greg Pepper's Dragonfly (converted to CFS3 by Mark Rude) are some of the most popular aircraft in flight simulation. They have been around for a long time and there are literally zillions of skins out there for each. Many of the earlier skins made for these models in FS will work on their CFS3 counterparts . . you just have to convert the texture sheets from a bmp format to dds. A quick search on the internet should point you to many of them.

I have been promising to upload stand alones of these fine models for a very long time now but kept putting it off because I was constantly tweaking one thing or another (in terms of flight model, effects, skins, loadouts, etc.). At this rate CFS4 will be out and they would still be sitting in my HD. I'm going to upload these as soon as I can group all the loadouts & effects into a coherent package and get the necessary permissions.

I have had assistance tweaking these from the forum and with "beta testers" through E-Mail. After suffering several HD crashes, misplacing of info and just plain letting them sit on the shelf for so long, I have forgotten who those individuals are/were that assisted me. I would like to give these individuals their due credit. If you were one of those kind souls that helped me, please PM me so your name will be immortalized in the "read me". I don't think the original CFS3 Beech had nav lights, the one I'm about to upload does. I didn't put them there (I don't remember who did?) but I have modified them. (Jaycee I already got you covered).

In time, more stand alones will follow.

I don't think it was officially uploaded for CFS3 Jose. It's just been kinda floating around in the back ground for some years. It was originaly made by Greg Pepper for Flight Simulator 2004(?) and then converted for CFS3 by Mark Rude.

Sweet, I'm looking forward to this. I was in the same boat, lots of tweaked vehicles/ships etc, but have started to organise and upload as time allows. :applause::applause:

Wow! great to see Miltons Beech getting attention, excellent looking skins. :applause::applause::applause:
Looking forward to grabbing those!

It would be nice if someone could get the source file to the helicopter and animate the main rotor blade. It would add so much more realism to that model!

Mark Rude did the CFS3 conversion from that model on the FDS site I believe? I am ashamed to say that I have been tweaking the S-51 for about six years now(!). When I first contacted Mark about the model, he indicated that he no longer had the complete CFS3 model and I had to obtain it from another member.

He added the guns to make it a little more interesting for a combat sim. Most of the stand alones that I upload will not have working guns but, watch for a few "gunships" in the mix. :mixedsmi:

gmax source file for the S51 is at Freeflight Design Shop

So, is there a cfs3 version of the gmax source available that could be tweaked to add the rotors? If so I'd gladly do it, the Dragonfly's one of my favourite helicptors.

I don't think Mark still has the original GMAX CFS3 source model. He indicated that he no longer had the "complete" model and therefore couldn't make changes to it. I had to obtain the flying model from someone else.

PS - first on deck will be the blue USN Beech and the blue Toko-Ri Dragonfly, just trying to finish up the "read me's". Clive, you will be pleased to know that there are several Royal Navy versions in the works for each.:mixedsmi:
