Difficult conversion

I converted the FSX (originally FS9) Super Etendard for use in P3Dv4. The outward model is not too difficult to adapt with ModelconverterX, but the VC is something different.

So I used a VC that comes close: the Etendard VC from the RFN version. It works. There is one major setback: I can’t put in a launch assistance entry. Doing so results in an uncontrollable airplane that won’t get airborne. Can someone here with knowledge of converting airplanes point me in the right direction?

Based on my limited conversion work. Normally, converting aircraft from one sim to another usually only affects the model itself. Not how it flies. Certain animations can get messed up or need to be reassigned. This sounds like an issue that perhaps existed with it prior to conversion I'd bet. Or it appeared with swapping the cockpit. My guess is that something can be conflicting with the airplane either with the swapped vc and gauges or it's some sort of issue with the actual AIR file. Looking at the aircraft.cfg file, I don't see anything that would conflict. I do see two launch assistant entries, but are // I assume indicating you've put those there and just deactivated them due to the errors you were having. But based on the issues I've had with swapping VCs I've had some of them with launch gauges that conflict with how the airplane flies and external programs that exist for carrier ops. That's what leads me to my idea on the two possible causes. Someone who's maybe more versed with either version hopefully can say if it's something else. Kind of a shot in the dark from me.
