• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

DirectX 10 on WinXP

I do believe Mr. Brocious discontinued development of this attempt some time ago. Interesting concept, but I would proceed with caution.

The water and sky do indeed look wonderful, but I also suspect those screens were taken from the actual Vista DX10 environment......not sure about that though.

Cheers,

Parky

In fact, I was waiting for your comment on it Parky, I was talking about it on TS with Osudog this evening but it's not for me, I don't think my computer can handle that kind of eyes candy... but it look amazing!

At this stage of development, Phase 3 for OFF is not up to the latest versions of DirectX, so you'll not need to worry about your PC capabilities being pushed too far.

The team may look to moving into later DirecetX versions for OFF, but not at this time.

Those screenshots shown are the official ones from Microsoft. The blog entry is from July last year. When you are following the link to the Alky Project given in the blog text then you will see that the project is dead.
