• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

  • Server side Maintenance is done. We still have an update to the forum software to run but that one will have to wait for a better time.

Do Not fall for this B.S. !!!

While I certainly do not advocate using some of the suggested bits of data for a Google Alert, I do use several custom Google Alert bots to keep an eye on specific products from both Eaglesoft and Milviz. This helps me to become aware of support questions being asked in fora I rarely -if ever- visit, or discover if/when security has been breached.

The Google Alert feature is quite legitimate and safe to use, provided one takes care to only use keywords that aren't sensitive personal information!

I noticed that its been revised today............

they removed credit card #s, bank acct. #s, mother's maiden name, etc. from the list..............DUH !!

That makes sense, might give it a try (for this use you mention)

I got one of these google emails a day or 2 ago. Google are pretty good with security updates, which is why I have stuck with the google chrome browser. But I am one of these people that like to hang back for a while and see how well the software works. For that reason I have opted not to go with this new security package for a while.
