Do you like Animae? Have you seen 'Appleseed?'

never been to carzy about animes in general but there are a few that really caught my attention .
Akira is a fantastic one ( revolutionary for its time with many techniques of animations and different colors which had never been used before in any anime ) and mostly porco rosso by Hayao MIyazaki ( princess mononoke , spirited away ) which is in great part a tribute to 20's/30's aviation ( he developed a passion for airplanes as his uncle was the owner and his father the director of Miyazaki airplane which during WWII built rudders and other parts for mitsubishi fighters ... most notably the A6M zero ) . it is a great watch and some of the planes featured in it are even available for FS2002/2004 thanks to Mr Ito .

My first Anime experience was "Captain Future" http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=1237 when I was a kid:engel016: I fell for it, but lost track of the genre for some time.

I only rediscovered it recently through my addiction to graphic novells (Will Eisner, etc.). I discovered Jiro Taniguchi. The best I´ve seen and read for a long time: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=jiro+Taniguchi&x=0&y=0 Simply superb stories.

I also dug deeper into modern manga and found death note of very high graphic quality (own the whole series), the books as well as the anime. Great plot!!! Lot´s of the stuff is rather childish, but I am working through the loads...
