• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

I don't know enough about the weapons system in question to pass a whole lot of judgement, but I will say that I'm surprised that a commander would be willing to assume this much liability. Even if the immediate commander thinks it's okay, I'm even more surprised that his infinite level of superiors didn't put a stop to it.

All that said, it's cool that these family members got to watch this. :ernae:

I have doubt that the missile shot went off as part of the show. Pay attention to the clouds overhead :d

You're gonna have to spell it out to me. What am I missing? I looked at the video again, and nothing in the clouds is obvious to me.

In the shots of the planes flying by it looks pretty clear. The missile goes off into a very overcast sky. At least that's how it looked to me. It suggests a time lag.

If they just took family members right off the coast, then it could be just time elapsing and fog rolling in the late afternoon.

It does indeed look like two seperate videos clipped together to me. Perhaps taken by the same person with the same camera but on two different days.
