Does anyone know of any decent STOL scieneries in the mountains?

Does anyone know of any decent STOL scieneries in the mountains?

I am really desperate for a decent STOL scenery for my A2A piper cub. It doesn't matter what country, as long it is on a mountain. Thanks everyone.

My favorite short strip probably is Cirque airstrip. It's located on a mountain and it's extremely fun especially at winter time and in bad weather. It is part of the Tongass X package.

Our own Falcon 409 has been making more than a few small fields from the mountains to the sea. Just search for his screen name and take your pick!

The freeware altiports from Guy Nemoz are also an excellent choice, containing 4 main altiports in the Alps (Courchevel, Megeve, Meribel, Alpes d'Huez). The runways are not horizontal and quite short too, but in a Cub the departure and landing might be too easy for you.

If you get the altiports have a look for the freeware Alps mesh too as it makes a huge difference to the look.

I have said it a couple of times before but during beta testing with the A2A Cub I was able to take off and land in the width of the runway at Courchevel in a 27 knot crosswind. Lots of fun!

Almost anywhere in the Vancouver scenery package. There's gravel banks along most of the rivers; who needs marked or even designated strips? There's plenty of lakeshores to do "wetwheel approaches" to...

Try my "guatemala's small airfields" they are there for the Gong Ho bush pilots.....they used to be at simviation and flightsim I think.

A great idea would be for someone to create a collection of Dangerous approaches. Saba,St Barts,Lukla, Bald Mountain,Circue ect as part of a package.
Or even a fictional area consisting of various type of approaches/strips.
Over obstacles, various lenghts, altitides,sloped,curved.
There are alot of Bush pilots out there and even more pilots tired of 12000 ft runways looking for a challenge. I will buy it.

My advice is for you to buy instant scenery. Find a area thats really challenging to land. Then with easy to use instant scenery make it a strip. Put some tires, barrels and form a outline. Add a crashed plane, maybe a old truck, a presto.... theres your new strip.
I have already added alot of really tough strips on mountain sides, beaches, dirt roads.

Or Instant Scenery's freewave equivalent, Whisplacer. I have both and use neither - SBuilderX and Airport Design Editor will allow me to do far more, without massive amounts of effort required.

I would seriously recommend making your own strips, as JimJam suggests, though. It's not at all hard and can be really satisfying when you find the perfect spot.

La Motte Chalancon has long been a favorite of mine, having flown there in real life too:

on an mountain, and not horizontal either

From the same site (from Guy Nemoz), have you tried Maanlichen ? It's a very small piece of runway somewhere not far away from Interlaken. It has to be the most difficult landing I know about. Only very slow planes can land there.

That shot makes me hopeful for a native FSX Socata Rallye....I put up a good few hours in them IRL.

There where some airfields i didnt know about
Thanks
some are dangerous :kilroy:

Well it's NE of Wrangell...

You know, I'd recommend getting the Tongass Fjords X Google Earth Map created by Ed Truthan. Shows the location of everything in the Tongass Fjords X addon, plus any addons created for the area by other folks. Also, it has nice Aeronautical Chart and Magnetic Overlay features that can be turned off and on in GE, as well.

You can get it right here:
