A repair option???

Just uninstalled Traffic X and now have no traffic at all...Nada..Not even a stinkin boat...:a1451::angryfir:

The BGL's are still in World / Scenery folder.....

Thanks

Sure does! :wiggle:

Just run the installer again and select 'Repair' at the prompt screen.

I've run it several times in the past and the best thing is all my addons were still as they should be after the repair.

Hmmm I got no Repair option...It ran disk 1 for a minute then told me to put disk 2 in ...It went and then had me exit....Still no traffic at all...Nothing.....

I deleted some traffic BGL's and now its repairing....

When you put the first disk in, it should give you a choice to either uninstall or repair.

Well Crapola...The repair made my install TOAST.....LOL

It has three errors upon launch each time.........

I guess its done for good now...

All this from Traffic X uninstall....:a1451::angryfir:

Harleyman,
I think that you must uninstall Acceleration/SP2 before you do a repair then just reinstall them. If my memory serves me correctly that is what I had to do when repairing FSX.
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Make a fresh installation of FSX+XPack and make a backup from that clean installation.
There will be always add-ons which are overwriting default files and creating a mess and then you can easily replace the corrupted/missing files with your original backup files.

Also make regularly backups of the scenery.cfg and terrain.cfg.

YUP...Had to delete SP2..

Thanks ....What a mess....LOL :ernae:

Don't think repair is necessary. No AI means there still is a FS9 BGL hidden somewhere. Walk yourself through AI installs, trace them and get rid of the FS9 ones. That's what gave me my AI back. If you are uncertain about a file, don't delete it but move ot to a new folder under the same directory. You just hace to look for BGL's that have traffic in them. Your FSX default traffic BGL's are all in scenery/world/scenery (called trafficAircraft.bgl). You might want to make a backup of the entire folder.
If you installed TrafficX, there must be a trafficdisable bgl file as well. That's a backup TrafficX made for you.:wavey:

You are right Warrent...There was a FS9 file in there that was not converted...I ran the tool to convert them all,but I guess one did not convert to FSX bgl's..

Thanks for that....:applause:
