• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Does HAT switch ONLY work for views intended?

I have trackir and so would like to use the hat switch for other commands like 'virtual view' and the cockpit see/invisable but I can't seem to get it to except but one command and then that won't work in game.

Any ideas?
 
I guess this can be done through the driver config tool. It should allows you to map the POV to 4 or 8 different buttons.
I'm sure this is possible with saitek products and logitech.

I'm Also Interested in being able to do this.

Since I have TrackIr and don't need the hat switch for views, theoretically they should be available to assign to other commands. I've tried to do it through the in-game key assignments, but I have yet to get it to work.

Anyone else?

IIRC the POV hat appears as simply "POV" whatever direction you press it when you assign it to some key feature. It seems it is mapped to a single button if not used as a POV.
The joystick config tool may be the best way to do it (but as usual TIMTOWTDI).
