I'm quite sure Win7 beta does not have DX11, as it's only a technical preview available through the DirectX SDK.
 
No...the first one I ordered was DOA and it went on back order...just my luck, then this one came is stock the next day for 60 bucks more so I said just ship that one. The only difference in the two was the color and it comes with a game...woop-pee chet huh. BTW, get this chet, I went down to UPS to see if they would release it to me today and they said there was no way...they said I had to wait till they delevered it first....I was having some Sata cables coming today and when I got back home the cables and the new video card was there......goes to show ya the left hand has no clue what the right hand is doing. I bet cha the computer games comes tommorrow.I'll post some shots in a minute.

Both cards are the same size. I really thought the 295 GTX would be a tad bit bigger. The water block I brought from DangerDen was 200 bucks with shipping. The reason I wanted this water block was because I read the bad boy runs a bit hot. This set up here will be the most I spent on a single video card.Can someone lend me a dollar for a cup of coffee...lol.

Yeah, curious to see the difference in the 295, I have the 285, looks like the exact one you have there too. :ernae:
 
As i recall all DirectX 10 and 10.1 graphics cards are supposed to be fully compatible with DirectX 11.
Which makes one wonder where they screwed up in DirectX 10.1 since Nvidia cards don't support it, but appearantly will handle DX11.
 
The 295 does a outstanding job on my rebuild. I had a 260 in there but I wasn't impressed at all. Right now I am waiting for some new memory. The 8 gig DDR3 I have installed now doesn't do that good of a job. This new gamming memory should do the trick for me...I hope....it cost enough...Mike

Yes to all of the above.. Anyone riunning windows 7 is running DX-11. will you see whats in that video?? probably not. Why? because i can almost gurantee that that demo is running on a tesla platform. If you can afford a tesla then yeah, you'll have those waves, if not, well,, your among good company :D..

I didn't plan it that was..lol. This thread was suppose to be about the DX11 water and then GT182 had to bring up that video card thing. Believe it or not I have been fighting this BSOD with some hardware problem for over a month. Ended up being the new BFG video card.
